Elite Gaming Channel is entering a new era, and I wanted to take an opportunity to share with our community what some of these changes will look like.

TLDR: Elite Gaming Channel is expanding into other real-time strategy games, while maintaining a focus on Age of Empires IV.

Elite Gaming Channel has been a cornerstone of the Age of Empires IV community since the game’s release, a legacy we continue to be incredibly proud of. In total we have organised and broadcast six out of the ten S-Tier events since the game release; and with the support of wonderful players, casters, community members and developers, and the publishers, we have done our best to build this esports scene together with you.

With Age of Empires IV as our foundation, we have built a community of passionate gamers who share our values of inclusivity, kindness, and mutual respect. Though in the years since we launched we have indeed worked hard on improving our production and broadcasting, I can’t emphasise enough that our priority has always been on building a community of real warmth. We want our spaces to feel welcoming and inclusive, we want our broadcasts to feel like places for everyone. This will continue being our mission going forward.

As we continue to grow and evolve, we recognise the importance of expanding our focus beyond Age of Empires IV to other games appealing to the same demographic. This decision was not made lightly, and we want to be clear that we will not leave Age of Empires IV behind. We will continue to host major events and tournaments in the game, and our community will always be a welcoming home for Age of Empires IV fans. We were the biggest Age of Empires IV tournament organiser yesterday, and we intend on being the biggest tomorrow.

If anything, we hope is that this evolution will enable us to make bigger and better Age of Empires IV events, as we expand our reach to a wider audience.   Those that have been around since our very beginning, will know that our true roots were in Age of Empires III. It feels fitting therefore that our next foray into new territory will be with the upcoming Rise of Rome event.   In addition, we have several other events in the works that will feature other real-time strategy games. While we cannot reveal all the details just yet, what we can say is that we intend on sticking to those games that we believe will appeal to our community, and staying within the broader genre. We’re also working on our next major Age of Empires IV event too.

I want to re-emphasize that our decision to expand into other games does not mean that we are abandoning Age of Empires IV. On the contrary, we believe that our continued commitment to Age of Empires IV is what has made us successful thus far, and we intend to keep that commitment going forward. We are proud to have built a community around Age of Empires IV, and we are excited to continue hosting major events and tournaments in the game.  We’re so excited to continue this journey with you, and believe that this expansion will allow us to provide new opportunities for our community to engage with each other and with the real-time strategy genre as a whole.

We hope that you will join us as we explore new games and build new friendships.
