Microsoft sent age of Empires fans into a frenzy on April 7th as they announced that Return of Rome would be launching May 16th! Return of Rome sees the original Age of Empires brought to Age of Empires II definitive edition and available to purchase as part of a new DLC.
This is a totally new kind of expansion pack bringing the title that started everything as a new self contained experience. All original sixteen Age of Empires civilisations will be brought to the expansion and one brand new civilization, the Lac Viet. There will be three new campaigns ‘featuring conquerors, empire builders and gifted tacticians’.
For those needing some catch up on the original Age of Empires, the sixteen civilisations are; Assyrians, Babylonians, Carthaginians, Choson, Egyptians, Greeks, Hittites, Macedonians, Minoans, Palmyrans, Persians, Phoenicians, Romans, Shang, Sumerians, Yamato. They’ll be joined by Lac Viet, making an amazing 17 civs in total!
