This event will begin during Steam Next Fest, when Stormgate will be playable for the first time by the public. The competition will take place over two weekends – February 10-11 and 17-18. Competitors without beta access who advance to the second round of competition will receive closed beta access to Stormgate lasting through the entire closed beta period, including the opportunity to be among the first to playtest the game’s unannounced third faction.
We’ll be announcing all of the details shortly, but for now here’s some key information:
The early rounds will take place on February 10-11.
The final rounds will take place on February 17-18.
Participation in the event is open to the public.
SC2 players participating in IEM Katowice are eligible to participate.
We will seek to involve competitors from a variety of RTS games.
Much of the event will be open to community casters for broadcasting.
We’ll be releasing a lot more information about our plans for the Stormgate Open in the coming weeks.
