Age of Empires IV is a relatively young scene, but that doesn’t mean all the big names playing the game kicked off their legends in the game. Beastyqt, DeMu, Marinelord were all well-known players from Starcraft 2 before they decided to change futuristic weapons and creatures for trebuchets and swords. Even more, Vortix and LucifroN were elite players in World of Warcraft and Heroes of the Storm, in addition to being top competitors in Starcraft 2.

Not all names, though, started elsewhere. Some players began to create a reputation in Age of Empires IV. And while several young players seem to be increasing their level, three names are clearly above everyone else.

Puppypaw and Wam, the Canadian twins, have been competing in the game since it’s very beginning, and they have always shown a great level; but it was just recently that they became a real, constant treat to the aforementioned names. Both finished 2nd in their respective groups in The Elite Classic 2, and while Wam “only” got a top 6, Puppypaw almost became the champion, losing the finals against Marinelord.

Then, there’s the reason why Wam didn’t advance more in The Elite Classic 2: LoueMT. The young Chinese player is probably the most recent player to gain public attention. Praised by both the viewers and other players, the 21-year-old player got third place in TEC 2, losing against Marinelord in the semifinals  but beating Beastyqt in the bronze match.

How high will these rising stars fly? Who will be the first of them to win an S-Tier tournament?
